As a modern naval-air wargame, CMANO has been adopted by multiple military academies and institutions as a simulation and training platform. This game was utilized by the U.S. journal Foreign Policy to simulate Sino-Japanese air combat scenarios in the East China Sea. In October 2016, the Air Mobility Command (AMC) decided to incorporate COMMAND as one of their simulation tools. Concurrently, the Naval War College and military academies from several other nations have integrated COMMAND PE (CMANO Professional Edition) into their simulation and training platforms.

USDataverse has compiled comprehensive equipment data from CMANO, encompassing over 20,000 entries of aircraft, ships, submarines, facilities, sensors, and weaponry, to support related research.
